Vintage Myott Royal Mail Staffordshire Ware, brown transferware, ironstone, Made in England, gift.

This collection made circa 1950’s by the well known MYOTT pottery company in Staffordshire potteries, England.

Dark Brown transferware of coaching scene on a cream background with scalloped swirl rim.

Myott produced the "Royal Mail" pattern from approximately the 1930s to the 1950s. The pieces are made of Staffordshire ironstone, known for its durability and rustic appeal. The brown transferware technique involves engraving a design onto a copper plate, transferring the ink to tissue paper, and then applying it to the ceramic piece before firing.

The "Royal Mail" pattern is popular among collectors of vintage English pottery.
