This highly collectible 1953 Wedgwood commemorative coronation mug was designed by English graphic designer Richard Guyatt (1914-2007) for Queen Elizabeth's Coronation in 1953.
The beautiful design features the English Royal heraldry - a central crown surrounded by a lion one side and a unicorn the other side. The inside of the rim is printed with 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN' whilst the outside is adorned with pink, gold and brown decoration depicting the year, 1953 and the fleur de lys symbol.
The bottom of the mug is printed with 'To Commemorate the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1953 Wedgwood Made in England Designed by Richard Guyatt'.
Painted by hand underneath is the product number: CL 6487.
